We are currently seeking a Design Engineer I to support Site Civil projects out of our Lexington office.

What You’ll Do:

This role is ideal for an early-career civil professional who is passionate about land and site development design and eager to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The designer will contribute to the planning and design of projects for both private and public sector clients, including grading, roadway and parking layouts, stormwater management, erosion control, and construction detailing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of design plans, construction documents, and technical reports for site development projects.
  • Perform grading and drainage design, including stormwater management and erosion and sediment control.
  • Support roadway and parking design using Civil 3D and related software.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and assist in cost estimating.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Research and apply local, state, and federal design standards and codes.
  • Support submittal preparation for jurisdictional reviews and permitting.
  • Participate in field visits, data collection, and site assessments as needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • EIT certification required or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Experience in civil/site design, land development, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with AutoTurn and HydroCAD is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
