Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of delivery operations. This role ensures that drivers are efficiently assigned to routes, stay on schedule, and receive real-time support throughout their journeys. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description

• Schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate routes using computers, phones, or two-way radios.
• Ensure timely departures and arrivals by monitoring driver progress and route adherence.
• Communicate effectively with drivers to provide support with traffic conditions, route adjustments, and weather-related updates.
• Act as a key point of contact for customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring responses are timely and accurate.
• Maintain detailed trip records and transfer data into company systems.
• Calculate mileage and determine estimated delivery times to ensure accurate cost planning.
• Check drivers in and out of terminals and manage logistical records.
• Collaborate with team members across departments to meet operational goals and support company initiatives.
• Shift: 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday

Skills Required

• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with dispatching systems and route optimization tools
• Customer service experience is a plus
• Prior experience in transportation or logistics preferred

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Pay Rate/Salary

• $22 per hour and higher depending on experience
