Private Family in Gatlinburg, TN Seeking a Live-In Housekeeper / Cook  Position: Full-Time, Live-In Housekeeper/Cook Schedule: Flexible – not a strict 9–5. Some weeks will be busier during family events; lighter schedule when the principal is traveling. Salary: $25/hour  (approx. $39,000/year) Start Date: ASAP (ideally within the next 1–2 weeks) Relocation: Yes – open to nationwide search Accommodations: Private bedroom with shower, TV, and access to property amenities on a 2,500-acre private mountain preserve About the Family A warm, respectful private family in Gatlinburg, TN is seeking a long-term, live-in household professional to assist a sharp and active 93-year-old gentleman whose wife recently passed away. The principal is easy-going, pleasant, and largely independent—still working, traveling internationally, and enjoying hobbies like fly fishing. The household hosts occasional charity dinners, business meetings, and large family gatherings, where the pace can be busy. During quieter periods—especially when the principal is traveling for about three months each year—the workload is lighter. The home is an older ranch-style residence (5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms) with a casual, comfortable atmosphere. The property includes two friendly large dogs (Weimaraners), so being comfortable around pets is important. Responsibilities ~Prepare simple, healthy meals (light breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for the principal and occasional guests ~Light housekeeping and daily tidying of the principal’s living areas and bedroom ~Laundry and wardrobe care, including pressing as needed ~Basic table setting for meals (semi-formal, not elaborate) ~Assist during family gatherings, charity events, and dinners (up to 20 guests at times) ~Run occasional errands (post office, grocery shopping, etc.) ~Light housekeeping of the main areas to manage dust and pet hair ~Provide general household assistance and be available when needed, while maintaining personal downtime Ideal Candidate & Personality The ideal candidate is warm, steady, and dependable, with a naturally positive demeanor and tidy personal appearance. They should be proactive, discreet, and adaptable to both quiet days and busy event-filled periods. A “can-do” attitude is essential—someone who is self-sufficient, takes pride in their work, and blends seamlessly into the household. While the principal is independent, some healthcare awareness is appreciated given his age.
