JOB REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented

Lab Technician to join the Quality Assurance team of our client. The Lab Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of products through precise laboratory testing and analysis. This individual will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to our commitment to delivering only the best to our customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Conducts basic microbiological or chemical analysis testing on in-process and finished product to support operational needs and ensure regulatory and customer compliance. Maintains QA testing and calibration documents and work instructions. Completes activity logs such as non-conformance, product hold/release, and outside testing. Provides HACCP plan related production support such as phosphatase testing and environmental monitoring. Enters data into Company databases. Prepares laboratory testing materials, media and samples for outside laboratory testing. Provides support for laboratory certification checks, inspections and internal customer audits. Calibrates and maintains QA laboratory equipment and instruments. Assists with various projects and studies through sample collection and preparation and recording results. Performs hold and release procedures to meet customer quality standards. Performs microbiological analysis of production equipment and environment to ensure safe food production. Provides support for laboratory certification checks and other quality control procedures. Stocks and rotates laboratory supplies. Rotates, cleans and maintains the QA sample retain library. Immediately reports any food safety or quality issues to management or other individual authorized to initiate action. \*\** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Previous experience working in a lab, preferably in a food manufacturing company, is REQUIRED High school diploma and / or equivalent required. Associate degree in a natural science preferred. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Rudimentary knowledge of microbiological laboratory testing principles and techniques. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of two, three- and four-digit numbers using units of weight measurement and counts. Good computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to identify potential issues. Ability to read and comprehend work related documents and carry out work instructions. Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively and in a way that other Team Members will understand. Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions or apply general rules to specific problems.
