Job Description

Job Title: Lab Technician 
Location : Plymouth Meeting, Pa
Schedule: M-F 8-5 (Available weekends as well)
Type: Direct Hire

• Performs routine and complex lab tests within established competencies and authorizations.
• Follows all pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical procedures for specimens, testing, and reporting.
• Monitors and documents quality control, maintenance, and calibration per protocols and standards.
• Troubleshoots test performance issues and provides technical support to staff.
• Starts up, shuts down, and maintains lab equipment; takes corrective action when needed and alerts Supervisor if unresolved.
• Participates in proficiency testing in compliance with policies.
• Updates lab policies, procedures, and regulatory documents as directed.
• Assists with activities to maintain accreditation compliance.
• Performs method validations, linearity, and parallel studies on instruments.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and complies with lab, safety, and HIPAA regulations.
• Manages supply inventory and notifies Supervisor when replenishment is needed.
• Adapts to changing company needs and works to improve knowledge, skills, and department operations.
• Meet and maintain CLIA requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related science.
• Basic lab skills: micropipetting, solution prep/dilution, aseptic technique, scientific literature review, and instrument operation/maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• ELISA or radioimmunoassay experience. (Preferred)
• High-volume micropipetting experience. (Preferred)
• Experience in a CLIA-licensed diagnostic lab. (Preferred)
