Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-visibility projects with significant organizational impact.
  • Manage and resolve complex issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to data scientists and broader teams, including training on emerging data science practices.
  • Offer leadership and coaching to direct reports and junior staff.
  • Design and implement custom algorithms and data models to support business objectives.
  • Apply predictive analytics and modeling techniques to key performance indicators, delivering insights that drive decision-making and improve operations.
  • Conduct research, advanced analysis, and modeling across varied organizational data.
  • Maintain and refine existing models, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Deliver actionable insights from structured and unstructured data using predictive modeling, data mining, visualization, and pattern recognition.
  • Formulate and test hypotheses, clearly communicating results to leadership and project teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to diagnose and resolve data issues while improving efficiency, scalability, and productivity of data processes.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and selection of data science tools and vendors .
  • Uphold organizational policies, standards, and practices, ensuring safety, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Support professional development by meeting continuing education requirements and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to compassionate, personalized, and high-quality service , aligning with organizational values.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science .
  • Background in healthcare environments such as hospitals, medical informatics, healthcare IT/finance, revenue cycle data, or Electronic Health Records (EHR) data management is strongly preferred.
  • Strong foundation in business analysis (process design, workflows, modeling, spreadsheets, etc.), along with solid technical, mathematical, and architectural knowledge.
  • Comprehensive understanding of machine learning methods (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks), including practical knowledge of their strengths and limitations.
  • Skilled in advanced statistics (regression, distribution properties, statistical testing, etc.) with proven application in real-world scenarios.
  • Ability to translate data into clear stories and insights while gathering and communicating requirements effectively.
  • Demonstrated expertise across the data science project lifecycle .
  • Proficiency in programming and hands-on experience with statistical and analytical software tools .
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and sound decision-making skills.
  • Capable of independently researching, diagnosing, and resolving complex data quality issues using logical and creative approaches.
  • Experience handling large, complex, and incomplete data sets .
  • Effective project management skills , able to juggle multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and database management systems .
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment .
  • In-depth knowledge of data science techniques such as time series forecasting, regression modeling, clustering, statistical testing, and A/B experimentation.
  • Strong client service orientation, with the ability to manage sensitive or challenging situations effectively.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and delivering clear recommendations.
  • Adept at simplifying and presenting complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
