You would be managing and implementing rehabilitative programs that improve patient mobility and increase strength for orthopedic patients at our main clinic in downtown Reno and in our Carson City location. We want our patients to get back to moving the way they want to be moving. You would play a role in improving their lives each day. Excellence in patient care is top of the list of our priorities, shown in the success of our physical therapy clinics. Develop strong relationships with fellow healthcare professionals and providers.

What would you do as a Occupational Therapist?

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. You can expect to regularly:

• Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients;

• Review physician’s referral and patient’s medical records and confer with patient and appropriate medical practitioners to plan, implement, and assess the intervention program;

• Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation;

• Test, measure and record in patient’s electronic medical record the patient’s strength, motor development, functional capacity, sensory perception, and respiratory and/or circulatory efficiency;

• Analyze patient progress and data, record in electronic medical record and modify interventions to achieve anticipated goals and expected outcomes, including referring to other practitioners as needed;

• Educate patients about injury prevention, ergonomics, and ways to promote health;

• Instruct patient in treatment procedures to be continued at home;

• Discharge patient from occupational therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow-up care or referrals.

Requirements

Certifications/Education

• Active Nevada Occupational Therapy license from Nevada State Board within 60 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications - How can you set yourself apart from other applicants?

• Two years of experience in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting.

Travel: This position may require travel to other clinic locations based on manager discretion.
