We are seeking an experienced and motivated Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join a high-performing surgical dental team. This role involves assisting oral surgeons during advanced surgical procedures such as extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, and IV sedation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities• Assist oral surgeons with procedures including extractions, dental implants, bone grafts, and IV sedation cases.
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, operatories, and sterilization areas following infection control protocols.
• Monitor and support patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Take and process dental radiographs, including panoramic and CBCT images (if certified).
• Provide detailed post-operative care instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Manage and organize surgical inventory, trays, and supply orders.
• Support sedation and anesthesia setup (IV or nitrous oxide) and monitor recovery under supervision.
• Collaborate with administrative and clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow and an excellent patient experience.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 1–2 years of dental assisting experience.
• Prior oral surgery experience (required).
Preferred Skills & Experience:
• Experience with IV sedation and nitrous oxide highly recommended.
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Required:
• CPR certification.
• Expanded Function Dental Assistant certification (CODA or FL Board approved).
• X-Ray certification.
Preferred:
• Nitrous Oxide certification.
