Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join a busy oral and maxillofacial surgery practice. In this role, you will assist oral surgeons during complex surgical procedures such as extractions, dental implants, bone grafts, and IV sedation cases. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist oral surgeons during surgical procedures including extractions, implants, bone grafts, and IV sedation.
Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments, equipment, and operatory areas in accordance with infection control standards.
Monitor and comfort patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and reassurance.
Take and process dental radiographs, including panoramic and CBCT imaging (if certified).
Provide clear and accurate post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers.
Support anesthesia and sedation setup (IV or nitrous oxide) and assist during patient recovery under supervision.
Manage surgical inventory, prepare trays, and order supplies as needed.
Collaborate with front desk and clinical staff to maintain efficient operations and enhance patient experience.
Minimum 1–2 years of dental assisting experience.
Oral surgery assisting experience required.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control and patient safety.
Experience assisting with IV sedation and nitrous oxide procedures highly preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification required.
CPR certification required.
X-Ray certification required.
