ATSS has a client in Metairie or Lockport, La looking for a Piping Designer.

Title: Designer (Piping)

Location: Metairie, LA or Lockport, LA

Position Overview: We are seeking a Piping Designer to develop detailed drawings based on applicable specifications and work order instructions. The role ensures that the design product and engineering deliverables conform to engineering design and customer specifications. Responsibilities include preparing Bills of Material (BOM), consulting with vendors on project-related activities, and coordinating design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed piping drawings based on specifications and work order instructions.
2. Ensure design products and engineering deliverables conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
3. Prepare Bills of Material (BOM).
4. Consult with vendors on project-related activities.
5. Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups, considering ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years of piping design experience within the shipbuilding industry.
2. Proficiency in using AutoCAD and 3D modeling software, such as Ship Constructor, Nupas Cadmatic, Inventor, and CATIA.
3. Strong understanding of piping design principles in the shipbuilding industry.
4. Ability to prepare accurate and detailed Bills of Material (BOM).
5. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
6. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Skills:

1. Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling using Ship Constructor, Nupas Cadmatic, Inventor, and CATIA software.
2. Strong understanding of piping design principles in the shipbuilding industry.
3. Ability to prepare accurate and detailed Bills of Material (BOM).
