Are you ready to make a difference in your community? Choctaw Lake POA in Madison County Ohio is hiring. We are looking for both part-time and full-time deputies! Deputies will be sworn in as Madison County Deputies working as special duty assigned to the Choctaw Lake community.

Choctaw Lake is a private lake community located in London, Ohio. The community has approximately 880 homes, 13 miles of roads, and a 285 acre lake. Choctaw Lake offers a safe and supportive work environment for patrol deputies.

Position Overview:

As a Special Deputy, you will serve as a vital part of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, providing law enforcement support in the Choctaw Lake community.

What We’re Looking For:

• Passionate individuals committed to serving the community.
• Must be available to work a consistent weekly schedule. (Full-time & Part-time)
• Full-time equals 36-40 hours per week; based on assigned schedule.
• Part-time equals 4+ hours per week.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Prior law enforcement experience is a plus, but not required.

Open Positions:

Full-Time: (Positions and hours subject to change)

• Day shift - 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Tuesday - Saturday)
• An overnight shift that allows for 7 days off over a two week pay period.
• The overnight shift is a 12 hour shift with 4 days on/4 days off and 3 days on/3 days off.
• Overnight shift is 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM. The 3-day base schedule begins Saturday night - Sunday morning and includes Sunday night/Monday morning and Monday night/Tuesday morning. Every other week 4th shift will be Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.
• A $3.00 per hour shift differential pay is added to base hourly pay for hours worked 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM.
• Overtime is paid for hours worked over 40 hours per week.

Part-Time: Consistent week at minimum 4 hours per week: Minimum of 16 hours per month

• Daily part time shifts of 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM available. (Thurs- Sunday)

Qualifications:

• Must have completed a Basic Peace Officer Training Academy.
• Certification through the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy.
• Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Must have never been charged with a felony.
• Must earn an Ohio Boater Safety Certificate within 30 days of hire.
• Must pass a Field Training Program with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
• Must meet all state and local requirements for law enforcement officers.
• Background checks and training will be provided.

Compensation:

• Starting pay: $34.00 per hour
• Shift differential: Additional $3.00 per hour for hours worked from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM
