Job Title: QC Laboratory Assistant
(Reports to QC Laboratory Manager)
Overview
The QC Laboratory Assistant provides support to Quality Control Laboratory operations, focusing on sample receipt, in-process and finished product testing, cleaning and preparation of laboratory equipment, and routine administrative tasks. This role is key to ensuring product quality and compliance with established standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Follow laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
Confirm and log incoming samples accurately.
Perform in-process and finished product testing using laboratory equipment, including:
Analytical Balances
Micrometers
Particle Size Distribution
Bulk and Tapped Density
Friability, Hardness, and Disintegration
Leak Testing
Appearance, color, aroma, and taste evaluations
Titrations
Karl Fischer Water Determination
Water Activity
Packaging Evaluation
Collect, clean, and store laboratory glassware and supplies.
Prepare, label, and document reagents, samples, and standards.
Maintain reagent prep areas, glassware washing stations, and storage areas in a clean and organized condition.
Adhere to good documentation practices (GDP) and maintain accurate, timely records.
Assist in report calculations and preparation of Certificates of Analysis.
Help prepare samples and documentation for internal and third-party testing.
Perform additional duties, projects, or tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures precisely.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work in a controlled laboratory environment while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Physical Demands
Routine laboratory dexterity, including pouring liquids, handling glassware, working with chemicals, and entering data.
Schedule & Compensation
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
$18–$20/hour, DOE
