POSITION: R&D Chemist

FULLTIME/PARTTIME: Full time

LOCATION: Pacoima, CA 91331

SCHEDULE: Standard Working Hours

SALARY RANGE: $80k – $100k

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Development of new sealants, adhesives, and coatings products in line with the company’s product strategy.
• Design and develop new and modified products based on various reactive chemistries.
• Identify and characterize the products corresponding to the identified needs
• Design and develop application and evaluation tests
• Develop methodology and operating procedures, select / build tools, and methods in line with the research topic
• Participate in selecting raw materials and equipment
• Participate in scale up and industrialization of products
• Interpret and exploit the results obtained. Define and clarify avenues for new research actions
• Lead projects and studies in their area of expertise. Facilitate and lead meetings and working groups
• Proposes lines of development for new products or processes
• Provides technology watch, within their area of expertise
• Communicating with customers and technical presentations when necessary

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project management skills to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Use of experimental design and other problem-solving methodologies
• Hands-on formulating skills
• Solid writing ability to create technical reports, presentations, and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS degree in Chemistry
• 3 – 5+ years of industrial formulation of two-part sealants, adhesives or coatings based on epoxy, polysulfide, silicone, or other reactive chemistries
