Senior Accountant – National Managed Care Organization (MCO)

Location: Full Remote 
Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 per year

About the Role:
A national Managed Care Organization (MCO) is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support accounting operations for its regional offices. This role will be responsible for comprehensive financial reporting, reconciliations, and fixed asset management, as well as assisting in the preparation of profit & loss statements, journal entries, and other essential accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Manage and track fixed assets, ensuring accurate depreciation schedules and compliance with accounting policies.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of P&L statements and financial analysis for the regional offices.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP, company policies, and healthcare financial regulations.
• Work closely with internal teams to support financial audits and compliance initiatives.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and efficiencies.
• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts in collaboration with finance leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
• CPA or MBA a plus but not required.
• Minimum five years of accounting experience, with at least two years in a large healthcare organization preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and healthcare industry financial practices.
• Experience with ERP accounting systems and proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
