Imagine being part of a team that’s redefining the future of mobility—where your ideas don’t just sit in a lab but power next-generation technology. At indie, we are developing cutting-edge semiconductors, photonics, and radar sensors and systems for automotive, industrial, and adjacent markets. Our innovations are at the heart of advanced intelligent sensing and user experience applications, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

If you're passionate about groundbreaking technology and want to make a real impact alongside a fast-paced team that thrives on creativity and collaboration, we’d love to have you on board!

We are seeking a Senior Imaging Engineer to join our Vision Business Unit within the Image Signal Processing (ISP) team. This team consistently delivers best-in-class image quality for automotive cameras built on indie’s current and next-gen high-performance ICs. This role involves close collaboration with the imaging algorithms, firmware, and software tools teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, verification, and optimization of auto-exposure, auto-white-balance, and auto-flicker-detection control algorithms on indie’s Vision ICs.
  • Architect, implement, and deploy real-time control firmware for ISP pipeline blocks (e.g., image enhancement, noise reduction, HDR, and other key image processing functions).
  • Partner closely with the Image Quality, Camera Host Tools, and Vision Embedded Software teams to continually enhance indie’s embedded software.
  • Maintain and evolve ISP pipeline hardware algorithm C-models for next-generation camera video processors.
  • Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for ISP firmware algorithms and control architecture.
  • Mentor ISP, Image Quality, and Applications engineers to help grow their technical capabilities and careers.
  • Support R&D in sensor fusion and machine learning technologies for future applications.
  • Collaborate with the Vision Platform Engineering team on sensor driver development, maintenance, and performance tuning.
  • Guide and support Image Quality and Applications Engineering teams during customer productization of indie’s ISP solutions.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or
    • Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience, or
    • Ph.D. with 2+ years of relevant professional experience.

Degree must be in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, Mechanical/Mechatronics, or Imaging Science with a focus on signal/image processing or control systems.

  • Proven track record delivering ISP pipeline solutions for automotive, mobile, consumer, industrial, or medical products.
  • Proficient in C programming (required); familiarity with C++, MATLAB, and Python is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience developing embedded firmware with real‑time constraints in image processing or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support other engineers.
  • Strong data‑driven mindset with solid experimental and analytical skills.

indie Semiconductor and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity, inclusive employers and will consider all applicants without regard to age, ancestry, color, marital status, medical condition, mental or physical disability, national origin, race, religion, political and/or third‑party affiliation, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates and will accommodate applicants’ needs under the respective laws throughout all stages of the recruitment and selection process.
